BCSI launches new Printforce branding to reflect our comprehensive print solutions. Our official name continues to be Business Card Service, Inc., but we are adopting PRINTFORCE powered by BCSI. Yes, we excel at business cards. But we're equally expert at a wide variety of products. Our name may have limited expectations, but our capabilities never did.

Additional significant equipment investments, including a Canon Inkjet press and additional equipment to expand capabilities to produce perfect and coil bound booklets, and other equipment to continuously improve efficiency.

BCSI joins several new associations, including:  PPAI, NPSOA (National Print & Sign Owners Association, FSEA (Foil & Specialty Effects Association), and PIM (Printing Industry Midwest).

New equipment was purchased to improve lead times, efficiency in production, and capacity, including the ability to produce saddle stitch booklets at scale using a Heidelberg Versafire digital press. Envelope Inkjet technology was also added.

BCSI launches shop.printforce.com, a self-service portal for resellers to order one-off print and access pricing for commonly ordered products. This is the first introduction to the Printforce branding, showcasing a wider range of product capabilities.  Strategic decisions were made in 2023 to increase staffing and cross-training to improve lead times, resulting in close to 100% on-time production.

Significant investments in equipment were made to expand our ability to offer on-demand print embellishments, including soft touch laminate, foil, and spot gloss without the requirement to invest in expensive dies and plates.

A second facility, Stationery-Print.Com (SPC), was opened in Agawam, Massachusetts, to help speed shipping for customers on the East Coast. Dave Wibbels, BCSI’s production manager for 17 years, moved to Massachusetts and became SPC’s Vice President.

BCSI received our first electronic order from Pacific Bell via a modem.

BCSI automated prepress and became one of the first printers with direct-to-plate technology. Typesetting, paste-up and camera-work were completely eliminated!

The company moved to a larger location, and continued to develop and refine the automated method in which business stationery products were produced.

Jim Marchessault envisioned automating the entire process, from order entry to invoicing, by allowing the customer to telecommunicate the order details into a central system. BCSI contracted with computer programmers to begin this large undertaking.
